Hello Summer! In this issue:
Action kicked off summer with our Annual End of the Year Party. We ate, drank and danced the night away. Photos and story follow. Also in this issue is a list of our planned summer events. On July 14, Annette the vet is looking for volunteers for her Feral Cat Coalition, which spays and neuters feral cats. That same evening July 14, we have our 2nd Paint-like Pollack party. Get as creative and messy as you want, and call it Art! On July 17, Dirk will host his annual Pacific Classic Party at the Del Mar Racetrack. And for a good summer read, there is a sneak preview of Action's 2019-20 tentatively planned ski trips.
With a heavy heart, we say, goodbye to our good friend, Rick Wiese, who passed May 19, 2019.
I look forward to seeing you all at our July 10th General Meeting and Happy Hour at the Mosaic Bar at Doubletree Del Mar, and all of our planned summer events.

FERAL CAT COALITION-NEUTER AND SPAY CLINIC
Sunday, July 14, 2019, 9:30 AM until 2:00 PM
Feral Cat Coalition will be running a spay/neuter clinic to help control the feral cat coalition. Volunteers are asked to get there at 9:30 and clinic lasts until about 2:00 PM. Duties may include cleaning, transporting cats in and out of surgery, monitoring recovering cats, and checking-in patients.

DEL MAR HORSE RACES AND POTLUCK
PACIFIC CLASSIC RACE DAY!
The Pacific Classic is the biggest race of the season at Del Mar. The race is 1 ¼ miles long and will host some of the fastest horses in the nation.
Action member, Dirk Swisher has been hosting the event for 15 years and has invited all Action Members, friends and family.. The venue is in the Pacific Pavilion, in the middle of the race track - complete with tables, umbrellas and more...
It's a Pot Luck - bring a dish to share. It's a great way to visit with friends and make new acquaintances.
Registration is $5 per person. Pre-registration is required, as you will need the ticket to enter the venue.

June 1st, Action celebrated its annual End of the Year Party. Thank you to our hostess Janet Katz, we had a great place to kick off the Summer and toast the end of a great winter season. Seemed like everyone had a great time with the Pirate-themed party, whether dressed to the nines in fluffy blouses, feathered hats and black boots, or in shorts and flip flops. We fueled up on Caribbean grub, and the DJ played some funky music so we could dance the night away. | | |

ACTION JOINS THE WINERY OWNERS OF THE DEPORTOLA WINE TRAIL

It was a beautiful day spent the day wine tasting at the 10th Annual Big Red Fest. Club members and their friends went to 7 out of the 10 wineries that
featured first class wines paired with fabulous bites.

There was a Celebration of Life for Rick Wiese on May 31, 2019 at the Mission Bay Yacht Club. Rick was an active member of Action, and had many friends in our club, who paid tribute. He will be missed. | |
