NEWZ SEZ

So good to see that smile again....

And make a toast to you, to speak with you, and dance with you! We celebrated all this and more at Action's Member Appreciation Bash this past weekend. A huge rainbow crashed our party, and we all know that true sign of Good Things to come!! See the story and images in this issue — A "Thank You" to all our old and new members, that stuck with us through this tough year and a half of solitude and masks.

And now a little pat on the back for Action's Board......Revving up for our 2022 Ski + Board Season
The Board has not stopped since the early days of 2020. We kept our monthly board meetings Zooming. We started with planning Zoom happy hours. Then, when the time allowed, we planned our outdoor General Meetings, all the while, planning our 2022 ski + board season, outdoor events, happy hours and the Member Appreciation Party. We kept our website updated, and followed through with our communications, emails and newsletters. It's a lot of volunteer time, but we love doing it, and as a result our membership has been growing in spite of the c-word!

So now we are getting closer to the real fun stuff — Snow 2022
We have our General Meeting + Happy hour Tomorrow August 4th, at Arterra Del Mar. Many members showed up last month to our first indoor/outdoor meeting.  It's great to see everyone, and you'll want to get warmed up for the September 8th General Meeting + Happy hour + and finally — Ta Da....Trip Sign ups!!!! You don't want to miss it.

Scroll down, See what we have planned for the rest of the summer and the great Party pix.
Looking forward to seeing you + your smile tomorrow at Arterra Del Mar.

Action Ski & Snowboard Club

General Meeting

Membership Drive + Happy Hour

For the first time since February 2020, Action Ski & Snowboard club held their General Meeting and Happy Hour at Arterra, Del Mar on July 14th.  It was refreshing to see so many folks (old and new) joining us at our old favorite General Meeting location for the first time since the pandemic impacted all of our lives.  This initial meeting also included a membership drive, where all new faces received a free raffle ticket for the 50/50 raffle.  50% of the proceeds are going towards Action’s local charity of choice, which as been Encinitas Spay and Neuter.  Congratulations to Tom Sullivan’s wise investment in raffle tickets that scored him a whopping $33 in cash.

Quite a few experienced skiers greeted us for the first time at this meeting, and many showed great interest in joining our 2022 ski trips.  Everyone contributed to a very high-energy ambiance at Arterra, rekindling some of the good old times that used to be common place.  Here are a couple more pictures from that event, where we greeted the following newbies to our Action membership team: Laura, Lisa, Michael, Teresa, Judi and John.

Thank you all for helping us initiate this successful membership drive!  The next General Meeting is on August 4th, and please mark your calendars with our September General Meeting and 2022 Ski Trips Sign-ups, which will be on September 8th at Arterra, Del Mar.

Action's Member Appreciation BBQ Bash

A Big thank you, a little Rock + Roll and a pot of Gold...
Really, could a Rainbow so full and colorful, timed it any better?

Saturday July 24, 2021 we got a little face to face time with our loyal members. The night was filled with live music, joy, and excitement to see everyone's smiling faces. It was a beautiful night at Janet's house, and we thank her for hosting, once again.

Rock of Ages, played, you guessed it, Rock + Roll. Leah poured wine and more wine, but made the beer drinkers pump their own beer from the keg :). John Thomas manned the grills and the Grill men. Real men with tongs! All the food was cooked, baked, sauted, flipped and mixed, with love, by the Action Board.

What else can I say, it was a well-deserved and needed party — again to thank our loyal membership — The pix below will tell the rest.
