The Action Board members have been more than busy preparing for bigger and better events this summer, of course followed by kicking off our next ski season in January 2022. We are delighted that you stuck with us though the difficult times, which will make it even sweeter to get back into our usual Action.

We are very excited about our ski trips in 2022 and our destinations include: Utah, Big Sky, Mammoth Super Bowl, Whitefish, Zermatt and Colorado.

Please note that the Zermatt trip has grown to waitlist as we have more than 40 members that have signed up in the past 2 years. You may recall this trip was re-scheduled from 2021 to 2022.

But there will be plenty of ski trip options coming your way with all the details in the near future, as we get ready for the September General Meeting Ski Trips sign-up date.

Thank you for keeping in touch!

THE STORIES

Canvas + Paint + Wine = Fun

On May 2nd, a slightly drizzly Sunday afternoon, Action held the event Paint, Wine & Canvas.  This was one of only a few in-person events the club has held since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, and it was wonderful to see people “in the flesh” again. This is the 3rd time Actioneers have come together at Leah’s to express their artistic talents.  Participants enjoyed rolling, brushing and mainly squirting paint on canvas to create some masterpieces!

Along with Leah and Action Activities co-chairs Cindy L and Carolyn G, participants included Tess Z, Julie G, Elyse W, Deb R, Corinne H, Alexis P and Rick C.  And off course Rafi and Turbo, Leah’s darling doggie duo who love to pose for pictures but luckily were not allowed too close to the paint!

The event wrapped up with a group collaborating piece, with each participant contributing a squirt or some dribbles to create this beautiful memento of the day.  And the sun came out….

Torrey Pines State Beach Hike Review: 2021-05-15

Smiling Action faces took over Torrey Pines State Beach on Saturday at 4PM on May 15th.  We met by the Torrey Pines North Parking lot at 4PM.  Actioneers with beach chair in hand started the 45 minute hike towards Black’s Beach. When we approached Flat Rock, which is where the Torrey Pines hiking trails connect to the beach, we decided rest our bones just below the Yucca Point Overlook.  This is where the Torrey Pines cliffs are least intimidating from falling into the sea.  It was great to see: Linda, Jessica, Janet & John T, Carolyn, Ken, Tom W., Carmen & Gary and Alexis.

Many hikers brought their beverages of choice, and we rested there for about 1 hour.  Of course our core discussions were around the future of Action Ski Trips, which is something the Action Board is in the middle of planning for 2022 (led by our own Ski Trips expert: Leah).

It was a wonderful and refreshing time, reminding us how things used to be.  Being able to meet in person again, of course energized all of us, and with much good news on the horizon, we all seem ready for a super 2022 ski season.

Keep on Action hiking.

Roger
