Action AFTERNOON General Meeting with Lawn Games

Please SIGN Quick Release and Register   if you are attending

Please bring the following items, as we plan to sit around a larger circle that will allow us to see each other, while meeting the required distancing rules:
  • Camping Chair or Blanket to sit on
  • Game to share (if you have one)
  • Beverage and Food of choice for yourself only
  • Jacket or blanket (in case is gets cooler)
  • Happy Face wearing mandatory mask

Torrey Pines Hike & 
Social Distance Happy Hour

Participants will meet at Torrey Pines Beach Parking North Lot (next to bathrooms) at 11:00 AM. Parking is available with meters at the lot, or for free at the side of Carmel Valley Road which requires 10 minute walk to the meeting point. Participants will hike with chairs and food/beverage for about 1 hour past Torrey Pines Park beach access area. Happy hour will be held in socially distanced chairs for approximately 90 minutes, before hiking back to original meeting point by 2:30 PM.

BRING
  • Light, transportable chair (suitable to carry 1 hour each way).
  • Snack and Beverage of your choice. Alcohol is prohibited so bring (inconspicuously) at your own risk. Absolutely no bottles allowed on the beach!
  • Depending on weather bring jacket or hat/umbrella for shade.
  • Happy Faces with Mandatory Masks!

Pre-Holiday Wine Tasting

Wondering what wine to bring to your sister's house for Thanksgiving? Or maybe you're in charge of the aperitif and don't even know what that is? And what goes with prime rib for Christmas dinner? Join Action on Saturday, November 21st for a pre-holiday wine tasting event. We will taste wines that are available either by mail order or from local wine shops so you can decide what you like, and then purchase that same wine for your holiday needs. This tasting will be led by our in-house Wine-O-In-Chief, Leah Clark, who also leads our Guadalupe Wine Valley tasting tours. Please see the website for more details and to sign up.

 
 

About the Format

This will be a virtual wine tasting, and the wine will be provided for pickup at one of two locations starting the day prior to the event. Your wine tasting kit will include two ounce pours of each of the wines, as well as a key to which bottle is which. The presentation itself will be on Zoom and you will have a chance to ask any questions you may have during the course of the tasting. Details for the pickup times and locations as well as the Zoom links and tasting notes will be emailed to participants prior to the event.

The FWSA conference is happening (COVID-permitting) in San Diego June 9 - 13, 2021, and there are a lot of volunteer positions available. Activities that are being planned include a bike tour, harbor cruise, and a pub crawl, all of which need volunteers. There are also volunteer positions available for the silent auction, the banquets, and the reception desk, among many many others. Zermatt ( Zurich) Switzerland -  March 19 - 26,  2022

Yes... the rumors are true. Action is going to Switzerland. Zermatt is on the Ikon Pass, Roger knows Switzerland well and we love adventures.

Train ride to Zermatt (about 3.5 hrs)
